What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a unique procedure utilizing ultrasound waves that tightens and lifts your skin without disrupting the surface of your skin.
How does Ultherapy work?
Ultherapy works using micro focused ultrasound waves that are programmed to collide under the surface of your skin. This treatment creates a subcutaneous tissue injury which results in an inflammatory response and recruits’ collagen and elastin. The stimulated collagen and elastin then repair, lift and tighten aging skin. This procedure can induce injury patterns at three separate levels underneath the skin, allowing for maximum skin tightening and lift.
Who is a candidate for Ultherapy treatments?
Anyone who is interested in reducing neck laxity, mid face drooping, or improving the skin around the décolleté and buttocks, and isn’t ready to undergo surgery to correct those problems, is an ideal candidate for Ultherapy. If you find yourself using your fingers to hold up your midface when you look in the mirror, and wish you could achieve that look, this procedure was designed to help you. It is also very effective in rejuvenating the skin around the eyes and lifting the brows for patients concerned about these areas.
How is the treatment performed?
The Ultherapy procedure is performed in the office and takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete. It can take longer if multiple areas are being treated. The treatment involves using a handpiece which delivers the micro focused ultrasound energy under the skin. The provider uses visual guidance from the Ultherapy monitor to deliver the energy in the precise location under the skin to obtain the best results.
Is the Ultherapy treatment painful?
The treatment is associated with some discomfort. Patients state that if feels like pinches under the skin. After hearing some of the concerns of our patients regarding pain control, we have adopted an option to couple this treatment with a pain control system called Pro-Nox. This system safely allows the patient to use an inhaled mixture of 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide gas to control their discomfort. For patients that are sensitive to this type of feeling, this option has worked well. Now more patients can comfortably reap the benefits of this innovative procedure.
What kind of results can I expect?
The results from this treatment continue to get better for 3-6 months after the Ultherapy is performed. The reason for this is that the collagen and elastin continue to work to rejuvenate the skin during this time period. The patient can expect the areas treated to show improved skin texture with a lift and a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. As our skin does continue to age, we recommend a follow up treatment at one year. Some clients find a treatment every 6 months helps them to slow the aging process of their face.
Can this treatment be combined with other treatments?
In our practice we find that combining the Ultherapy with dermal fillers and botulinum toxins has really given our clients a marked improvement in their results. We firmly believe that combination treatments give a much better result than one procedure alone. This is true with all treatment plans in all areas of the body.
What is the price of the Ultherapy treatment?
Some guidelines for pricing are as follows:
Brow lift: $600
Face and neck: $3,750
Face and full neck to clavicles: $4,500
