Liposuction is the removal of fat cells from areas of the body. Typically, the targeted areas are of the body hold onto fat and even after dieting and exercise, they resist weight loss.

During the procedure, a small cannula is gently inserted through tiny incisions in the body where there’s unwanted fat. The fat cells are then gently sucked out. Once these fat cells have been removed they’re gone for good.

Most patients may feel recovered within 1 to 2 days after the procedure, but this will depend on the amount of fat removed from the body and the area of the body that was treated.

In some cases, your own fat can be reinjected to another area of your body, like your buttocks. During the first consultation, our physicians will evaluate the option to reuse the extracted fat cells. The extracted fat can be used to enhance and reshape other body contour areas such as hands, cheeks and the butt. Because Smartlipo is so gentle, some of the extracted fat can be preserved for a reinjection. After the fat is processed and filtered only a certain amount can be used.
