Lower leg liposuction involves three possible areas: the calf, the ankle, and the cankle. To get a beautifully defined leg, you need to consider one or all three areas.
Calf liposuction will give you muscle definition. This is warranted when you have excess fat that prevents showing the lines on either side of the calf.
In a sole lipo surgery procedure, we can remove enough fat to make your calf much more shapely by showing the muscle and the lines.
What is calf lipo?
All modern liposuction procedures use the same basic processes.
The cosmetic surgeon injects the area with a fast-acting freezing agent. (The same kind as you get at the dentist).
The surgeon makes small incisions to get to the treatment area.
This is called Tumescent liposuction. The site receives two drugs to remove the fat tissue: a local anesthetic and a coagulant to limit bleeding.
The subcutaneous layer of fat tissue is called the hypodermis. This is the area that the doctor will work on.
It only takes a few tiny incisions to get to the very lean ankle fat. The surgeon inserts a small cannula and suctions away the fat deposits.
A skilled surgeon will then use a laser or water-based process to sculpt the lower leg to make it look natural and balanced after surgery.
You will be out of surgery within two hours with a brand-new shapely set of legs.

What happens on surgery day
Transportation to and from your surgery by a friend or family member is organized and essential.
There will be an analysis of your tests with your surgeon, discuss the surgery, and answer any last-minute questions.
Sometimes the doctor may wish to pen lines of part of the body while you are standing. This allows the surgeon to know exactly where the lipo cannula should remove the excess fat.
You start by receiving an oral sedation tablet to help you relax.
With the awake method, you can talk to your surgeon during the procedure. It is a much safer method than general anesthesia avoiding unnecessary hospitalization and added fees.
Tumescent Liposuction:
The surgeon will start with small incisions. He then injects a combo of lidocaine, sodium bicarbonate, and epinephrine mixed in a Saline solution. This allows the area to be numbed and reduce bleeding.
The cosmetic surgeon then uses a cannula to access the fat deposits and sucks them out.
Often, the surgeon may use a laser as a contouring procedure on your calf. This allows you to give you more definition. He may choose SmartLipo to reduce the size of the calves or give it a lifted look. It ends up giving your calves a slimming effect.
After your surgery, you will be driven home while the effects of local anesthetic and the sedative wear off.
After your surgery, you will receive a follow-up appointment and emergency contact info.
A few days later, you will have a post-op check-up to see the results.
