What is a Brazilian Butt Lift ?
The Brazilian Butt Lift, also known as Gluteal Augmentation and Liposculpting, is a form of buttock augmentation that naturally seeks to reshape, lift, and increase the size of the buttocks. When performed by an experienced surgeon, the in-and-out procedure is a low-risk, natural procedure that consists of two parts:
The first part is safely removing fatty tissue from a desired area using liposuction. Because Dr. Cole and Dr. Puppala do an additional step of using a state-of-the art-laser to tighten the skin after removing fatty tissue, a patient can expect a smoother, tighter result as opposed to the “old-school” traditional liposuction result.
The second part to the BBL is transferring the fatty tissue to the buttocks. This is a very precise and methodical procedure that results in a very natural enhanced size, contour, and “lift” of the butt.
What conditions are treated with a Brazilian Butt Lift?
The ideal patient has drooping, flat, or sagging buttocks that could be enhanced through a butt lift procedure. Patients usually have these signs or symptoms:
- Asymmetrical buttocks
- Sagging buttocks
- Flat buttocks
- Disproportionately small buttocks
- Irregular buttock shape due to extreme weight loss
Dr. Cole’s Brazilian Butt Lift Technique
Firstly, many surgeons shape the buttocks by primarily enhancing size and propping the cheeks so high up that it creates an illusion of a “shelf” which is very unnatural and exaggerated. Dr. Cole’s butt lift technique is much different than that. By contouring the waist, elongating the back torso, and sculpting out the buttock cheeks, his Brazilian Butt Lift procedure results have been coined as “upside-down hearts”. Moreover, the areas where he removes fat from are smooth and tightened due to his additional skin-tightening method he performs.
Furthermore, Dr. Cole’s belief of concierge medical care and notable bedside manner have distinctively set him aside. He guarantees each of his patient will have a physician who will help identify the personal changes that are right FOR THEM, all while caring for them in the safest possible manner. His strong disagreement in the “one-butt-fits-all” trend, along with his principle of ensuring full commitment by only performing one case per day, has made him a sought-after name in aesthetic industry. Almost all of his high-profile patients have repeatedly stated they come to him because of the natural, sexy look he creates.
What to expect after the procedure
Unlike the approximate 2-3 day downtime with SmartLipo, the Brazilian Butt Lift downtime is approximately 10-14 days primarily due to not applying any direct pressure to the buttocks. However, the benefits of the procedure are permanent and impacting!
The first 10-12 days, the new fatty tissue cells are “merging” with the patient’s existing fatty tissue. For this reason, it is imperative that a patient not apply direct pressure to the buttocks during this period. This includes not sitting or laying on the buttocks at all. Between the 12th-15th day, a patient can start to implement sitting so long as it is on a soft pillow for no more than 15 minutes at a time, just a few times a day. As each week continues, a patient can slowly increase the amount of pressure applied but should continue sleeping on their stomachs for a few more weeks. Should a patient not commit to this downtime, most of the fat that was transferred may not survive. Although most of the inconvenience is temporary, patients can go back to work after 2 weeks and resume normal activities by 4 weeks after the procedure.
